Support

Marrow is built by one person, and that person answers the support email. Most problems are one of the five below.

support@skeletonarmy.tech

Usually answered within a day or two.

The app looks empty

Marrow shows nothing until Apple Health lets it read something. On first launch iOS asks which categories to share, and the "Turn On All" toggle at the top of that screen is the one you want. It is easy to tap through without granting anything, which leaves the app blank.

To check or fix it: Settings, Privacy & Security, Health, Marrow. Turn on the categories you want Marrow to read, then reopen the app and pull to refresh. If you granted access later, open Settings, Data types, Apple Health access in Marrow and tap Ask again, then pull to refresh; history comes in, not only new data.

A brand new iPhone with no Health history has nothing to show. That is Apple Health being empty, not Marrow failing. Take a walk with the phone in your pocket and step data will appear.

One metric is missing while the rest work

That is a per-category permission. Stand hours are the usual culprit, since they are a separate toggle. Go to Settings, Privacy & Security, Health, Marrow, enable the missing category, then pull to refresh in the app.

Units: pounds and miles, or kilograms and kilometres

From version 1.1.1, Settings, Units switches the whole app between US units (lb, mi, fl oz) and metric (kg, km, mL): every number you read and every number you type, including workout weights, body weight, water and the data browser. New installs follow the phone's region. Exported metric files always keep the stored units (kg, m, mL, °C) with a unit column, so nothing you have already sent to a server changes meaning; strength-log files use your chosen unit and say so in their column names.

Logging sets: reps first, then weight

Every set in Marrow reads the same way: reps × weight, for example "8 reps × 135 lb". A set counts as soon as it has a number in it; there is nothing to tick. Each exercise carries a set / reps × weight / last time legend, and a new exercise is added at the top of the workout so it lands under your thumb. The exercise search covers about 850 exercises plus any you create.

Where did the food search go?

In the Log sheet the search field sits at the bottom of the Food section, under the meal scan, barcode and quick-add tiles. Results open right under it. The dedicated food search screen is unchanged.

The barcode scanner froze

Fixed in 1.1.1. If you are on an earlier version, update from the App Store; the scanner now hands the code off cleanly and recovers after a phone call or app switch.

Numbers do not match another app

Usually because more than one device recorded the same activity. If your iPhone and your Apple Watch both counted a walk, a naive total double counts it. Marrow picks the single richest source per day rather than adding them together, which is why its step count can be lower than an app that sums everything, and closer to what the Health app itself shows.

AI logging says I am out for today

The free plan includes three AI logs a day, pooled across meal scan, attached image, barcode, typed description and voice, because each one costs us money. The count resets at your midnight, and a scan that fails because the service is busy is not counted. Marrow Pro removes the limit. Search, Quick add and New food are unlimited and always available.

If a scan fails instead of showing a limit message, check your internet connection and try again. Photos are analyzed by a remote model, so scanning needs a connection. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent and what is not.

Pairing a server fails

Scan the QR code from the server's pairing screen. If it fails:

Connecting an AI agent

Full setup instructions, including Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Cursor, live on the MCP page. The short version: the server ships off, you turn it on in Export, Local MCP, and the app shows you the URL and token to paste into your client. For ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini with nothing to run, Connect your AI (Marrow Pro) does the hosting; every sign-in is approved from your phone.

Exporting your data

Everything Marrow holds is exportable at any time in Export: CSV or JSON for metrics, GPX for workout routes, and scheduled automations that POST to a URL you choose. There is no lock-in and no account to cancel.

Deleting everything

If Connect your AI is on, tap Disconnect first; that deletes the copy on our server. Then delete the app. All of Marrow's data lives in the app's sandbox on your iPhone, so removing the app removes it. Data in Apple Health is separate and is managed in Apple's Health app. We hold no account for you and nothing else to erase on our side.

Reinstalled, or a new phone, and the meals are gone

Every meal Marrow logs is also written to Apple Health with its name and nutrients. Open Settings, Help, Resync with Apple Health and tap Restore meals from Apple Health; they come back with their original times. The same page sends anything Apple Health missed in the other direction. Strength sets, routines and custom foods live only in Marrow and cannot be recovered.

Pro, trials and codes

Marrow Pro is billed by Apple: $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, or $59.99 once. Cancel during the trial and nothing is charged. Settings, Marrow Pro shows your plan and opens Apple's manage-or-cancel sheet. Restore purchases brings an existing purchase to a new phone; it is not a refund, which only Apple can issue. A code from us is entered under Redeem a code on the Get Pro screen. Everything Pro includes is on the Pro page.

The app says this version is no longer supported

Older versions keep a looser free allowance than the current one, so once a new version is out, the old one is asked to update. Update from the App Store and everything you logged is still there. If the App Store shows no update, tell us which country your Apple ID's store is set to.

Reporting a bug

Email support@skeletonarmy.tech. Helpful details: your iOS version, the app version from Settings, About, what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead. Screenshots are worth a lot. If you are on TestFlight you can also shake the phone to send feedback with a screenshot attached automatically.
